I have launched my own human rights complaints and have won significant victories in most of them. I won an out-of-court settlement with the Tax Court of Canada when they agreed to provide real-time captioning within the courtroom for deaf or hard of hearing lawyers who may have trouble listening to what is being spoken inside the courtroom. link
I was also instrumental in settling a major human rights victory with major movie chains and studios to install closed captioning in the theatres so that deaf and hard of hearing may enjoy understanding the dialogue spoken in popular movies. link
A major Federal Court of Canada victory was displayed on the front page of the Globe and Mail newspaper. I am proud to have been the lawyer on record for this important precedent-setting case, which has also been cited in Canada's most prominent legal journal, the Dominion Law Reports. link
I have contributed much legal research in analyzing human rights jurisprudence and submitted such to the Ontario or Canadian Human Rights Commission to advocate for my clients when they feel their rights have been infringed upon. I have attended at mediation sessions to advocate for my clients and to negotiate, if possible, fair settlements.
